I know this isn't exactly the place, but...

Yea, my buddy has a 347 stroker in his 65 fastback and his came out of the crate with 420hp and its carbed. I think you'd be fine with either a 347 stroker or going 5.8 based and getting a 408 stroker. Up to you though. For twisties i'd go with the 5.0 based small block instead of a mid-block 5.8 based. Lighter weight.

I'd rather have AIDS then buy an overpriced 15 year old car that was beat to sh*t. Take your time finding the car that you WANT and can AFFORD. If you don't you'll end up pissing your money away. My .02

Given the shape you say the car is in, if it had the suspension already taken care of (tubular front, aftermarket rear UCA/LCA, shocks/struts) and geared towards what you wanna do, I would CONSIDER doing it as a rolling chassis. But it would have to be perfect for what I wanted to do.

Nevermind...if it were a 4.6 I would say buy it. Since it's a 5.0, might wanna start with something different as when you start making lots of power, the stock block likes to act like a banana and split.
