Seems about right it is normally an 8 hour job for the average person and a normal shop rate is 60 dollars/hr.

I only paid $150 to get my X pipe installed, but I don't know what's different about yours.

$500 isnt bad they a few shops around here say $350 a side and my x-pipe costed $160 to intall but installing longtubes is a little more difficult.

It is a fair bit of labor. If you have the time/tools/patiences to give it a shot yourself, it would save you quite a bit of money.

I've never done it in the car with a stock K member (I usually just drop the engine engine in with the headers/trans already installed... oh and tubular K members kick ***!)but it's not really as bad as people make it out to be. Once the stock crap is out at least... IMO that's the worst part, fighting and struggling with rusted bolts.

x pipe not longtubes. x pipe is held on to each manifold by 2 bolts each side, and 2 bolts each side on the cats. its stupid easy to swap them out i would never pay 150$ to have someone else do it.

to do longtubes. you either need to unbolt the motor and lift it up, or drop the k member off the car. either way, its a good days job with a couple hands. so 500$ is actually very reasonable depending where you live. i believe people have posted that they have had to pay 1000$ for the labor....just depends where you live.

if you were in michigan i'd do it for you for 200. really dropping the kmember isn't very hard. and once you get that out it's not too hard to get the old ones out or the new ones in. but it does require proper tools. and i have small hands so it makes it a little easier to get into the tight spots.
