hey guys i just got a 1997 mustang gt... its a real step up from a 4 banger civic lol it has underdrive pullies, intake, h pipe with no cats. thats about it for engine. just wondering how much horsepower its makin.

4.6L SOHC V-8 = 215 hp @ 4200 RPM & 285 lb-ft @ 3400 RPM

car is preety clean. it also has cobra rims, been lowered, 3.73 gears and a shortshifter

pullies and exhaust... 225~. 2 valve mustangs dont take well to mods.

you should start checking into a PI swap. heads, cams, intake manifold from a 99+ gt which will add a touch over 40hp to your car.

its a little involved for a first mod but you really already have 2 of the only 3 good, cheap mods for a 2valve (gears and midpipe). a catback is the only other one - while not good for horses it will definately make ur stang sound more like a stang.

1997 NPI GT with an exhaust, UDPs, and a CAI........I say right around 210-215rwhp if it's a stick

well stock hes around 180rwhp correct? figure around .15x215 for the drivetrain loss and thats if its a stick. The udps and cai probably only add 5-10rwhp tops and the exhaust maybe another 10-15rwhp cause its just a midpipe. So i would say anywhere from 195-205rwhp tops.

Id do the PI heads and cams that 98redstang has, and a PI intake. Then you'll have a nice quick lil 2v lol!

But PI swap for sure!!! Id also say ur hp is right around 200

Cobra bumpers and badges bumped kugz from 270 up to 293rwhp...something to think about....
