+1 on fighting it. It can't hurt. Just bring your evidence and be friendly to the judge. Oh, and make sure to tell him you had no idea it had different gears in it, and the difference that can make. What's the worst that can happen? U pay the ticket?

if thats your only ticket and you can get the dealer to write a note saying your speedo was off, i doubt the judge is even going to keep it on record. in my experience, fighting tickets will get you a lesser sentence so long as you are dressed appropriately, respectful, and you dont already have a driving record that makes the ins company cry.

Sorry on the slow reply. Yea its my first ticket and this is my 3rd mustang. I'm only 19, I actually dont like to speed. I like to cruise and save a little gas. And I'm just now uploading pics to photobucket and its going half the speed of smell right now lol. So Whenever it decides to go faster, I'll have some pics up. Oh and my signature should be changed too.

Another helpful comment from "alexplantman" !!!
I looked thru his posts, and he is real serious in his questions to the forum, but he tends not to add any value to the discussions he chimes in on.

Why do guys do that? The point of these forums is to be helpful and respectful to guys with common interests.

I agree that you should try to get a letter from the dealer stating the speedo was off, AND show that you have had that corrected. It is important to show that you have corrected the issue as soon as you became aware of it. That will likely take care of the ticket issue.

Be aware that you may be drawing a little more attention from the cops with the o/r pipe and magnapacks. The sound level is probably bringing some unwanted attention.

You have mentioned wanting to swap in some new gears, but from the sounds of it, you already have aftermarket gears (that is what made the speedo read high). I would verify what gears are in it before making any future plans. If the current set is 3.73 or shorter, I would not spend money to change them.

I would think about UDP, CAI, and a 93 octane tune as begining mods.

Let us know how the ticket issue works out. GOOD LUCK!
