Default auto trans years

im gonna start looking for a new auto trans for the gt. which vehicles and years came with the same auto trans as the gt?

Just stick with the 99-04 transmissions. 96-04 had the 4r70w trans in them but the 99-04 are better than the 96-98.

The early 4R70W's had the issue with the 1-2 accumulator spring breaking as well as the transmission pan being too shallow. As far as I know, they fixed those issues in late 97 though.

I don't recall EXACTLY what the difference is but I remember reading a few differences in the tccoa articles. I can read through it later and find out.

EDIT: Looks like you want to try and find a 98+ transmission but to make it easier I would find one from a 1999.
