Buy 50th Anniv Mustang or Upgrade '01 Stang?

clarification
Thanks for replying so far to my thread. Let me let you know what I am thinking.
I could spend $15K on a downpayment or spend a portion of it instead on my 60K mile GT. I could use some new paint after 9 years, but there's no major body work or interior work to be doing. So, should I spend the cash making this car really something fun to drive (turbo, improved suspension, updated stereo) or would would I be happier just keeping the car as is and get the 50th later? It's a personal choice but I am curious if there are folks out there that decided not to buy new and throw more money into their existing car - was it worth it?
In terms of resale and collectabiltiy - I'm not interested in what my GT will be worth later. I drive the car for me and would not be interested in selling it. So money into the car is for my own enjoyment. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks.
