Which to get first? Tuner or 70mm TB?
So, I'm looking for my next mod to get. I want to get a tuner eventually, one of the SCT ones on the American Muscle website. Seems like a good deal for the money. However, I've always wondered if I got the 70mm TB, would that be a nice mod to get as well. Which do you recommend to get first? Also, do you HAVE to replace the plenum in order to put on a new 70mm TB (like the BBK one, for instance) or can you just put the TB on without the plenum? What's the difference with getting the plenum or using the stock one? Thanks!

tuner hands down out of those choices.
and its actually better to replace the plenum vs. the throttle body if your just doing one of them. cliffy has some data that shows the stock plenum is the weak point in the intake, not the throttle body.
and yes you can replace one or the other and keep the stock "other". and if your going to replace the TB, just get the 75. theres no reason to stay with a 70.

its a 2v...
like 8-10whp at the most with both done.

this is cliffys website and this was a flowtest done by accufab. you will notice, an aftermarket plenum with stock throttle body outflows an aftermarket 75mm throttle body with stock plenum.

Tuner definitely first.
And like they said, a TB is pretty much a waste of time in relative to a lot of other things you can get. When I bought my used 75mm Accufab TB and Trickflow plenum, I installed the plenum first because I had trouble transfering the TPS. I noticed a small change in throttle response. When I installed the 75mm TB later, I didn't notice much at all.

Yeah....lol I know. Sadly, I bought this car knowing this fact.lol.
But yeah, I will def get my hands on a tuner, hopefully around Christmas time. Then I'll look for a TB/Plenum combo. Then after that....I will probably be done hahaha. Unless I want to ditch 3.73's to 4.10's, but that's a waste to me, personally...
