I just got done wiring up the lighting for my AutoMeter Ultra-Lite full sweep vac/boost gauge and i'm not satisfied with the brightness. I hooked it up by wiring it into one of those "add-a-circuit"s that plug into the fuse box below your steering wheel. You plug it into the circuit that controls interior lighting so it comes on with your lights and stuff. I'm not sure if this is just the way it is or i've done something wrong. Post pictures of your gauge(s) at night time lit up, any brand or function I don't care.

Hey hang I'll try to get pictures of mine this weekend, I have autometer phantoms. I wirred mine with add-a-fuses as well but I def do not have any issues with the brightness. Do yours work with you're dimmer just like the stock cluster? If not you probably have them wired wrong usually because of a poor ground, what did you attach you're grounds too?

I wired mine into the defrost and added a fuse inline... then tied it into the headlight **** that way I could dim them if I wanted too... and they get plenty bright.

I had autometer phantom water temp and oil pressure and a plx wideband that I just recently pulled for my new gauge setup and I never had a brightness issue. You shouldnt be tapping into the dimmer switch on gauges unless they have a specific wire for that. Usually its just a ground and power wire for the light on mechanical gauges. Have to look up which wire is the power wire for the headlights/running lights and tap into that one. for a ground you can find a good ground or what I did was drill into the big metal bar running across that is behind the instrument cluster and put a ground wire onto it. Here are my new gauges though.

Well these aren't night time pics, but I can't find the ones I took at night. It gives you an idea though. They are very bright. I actually would have to dim them at night bc they were too bright and were distracting. They also change colors, up to 7 I believe. The have warning set points, test modes, and can record data(track runs, dyno runs, etc)
They are the NEXUS series by Autometer
