Tire questions :)
Firs tof all I have been absent for a good while and want to say hey to everyone! Second thign is I am finally getting out of Alaska to goto my next base in Alamogordo,NM. Back to the land of free shipping! lol. so I have been saving and I am planning to buy a set of black Saleen wheels. 18x9 front and most likely 18x10 rear. But I need help picking tires.
I am looking for somethign that's not to expensive. Something that will have decent grip at the track from time to time without going DR's. I would go DR's but I daily drive my car alot and don't want to deal with the quick wear rate of them as I am going to be pretty tight money wise for a good while once I move. What do you guys suggest?
What about tire sizes? I really want a nice wide tire out back. Maybe like a 305 or something if I can find something for a decent price? What size tires front and back would you reccomend? I also want enough side wall to give the new rims some protection and also try and avoid the look where it seems like the wheel buldges lsightly out more than the tire. I can't stand that. Any help is appreciated!

Nitto NT555's or even Yokohama S Drives....Good call on the saleens! I run 275 35 18's on the front and back, but w/ 18x10s I'd run some nice fat 305s!
I just picked up some Yokohamas for the rear of my car, and I absolutely love them.
WELCOME BACK MAN!! hope all is well.

I have 18x10 rims in the back of my car and I have to run 295x35xzr18 93y because you can't go any wider than that with that size rim (or so I've been told) and I also run Nitto INVO's all around 265x35xzr18 in front with the same rim sizes. I happen to have 2 265x35xzr18's for sale if you want to buy them. I will sell them shipped for 400 for you since you are in the armed services with me.

NICE! How much did the tires cost? I like my tires I have on my stock rims but when I am in boost in 1st or second gear at about 4500rpm they will break loose till I shift lol. Great advice so far guys! 99gtrag do you have a behind pic of the rear tires?! Maybe a 295 would look meaty enough while saving money from going to 305's. Trying to stay under 200 each for fronts and 250 each max for rears if that's even possible lol. I don't know alot about tires. Mainly treadwear ratings and ****.

Up front you don't have to get something that big..some sort of 255 nitto nt-555 shouldn't be more than 150-175 per tire..I have 17's though so for me it was like 105 up front for my 245/40/17 nitto nt-555 which are on 17x9 rims and in the back I went with 275/35/17 nt-555's...I'd say go with at least a 305 with your power level...but maybe the nt-05 is a good bit stickier.
