Gave in and cut my springs....

I'm about as low as jazzer is in his picture, but without his wheel/tire combo and i have some rubbing issues up front, and i had to roll the rear fenders. I agree that to go any lower than that would be death for daily roads

Looks much better.
Here is my take on it since i run cut springs...
Cutting the front isn't as drastic as cutting the rears on these cars... The rearend on these cars is where all the ride quality is. I ran cut tokico springs up front with tokico springs out back and the car rode PERFECT. Low up front, but still high out back. The car body rolled like a b*tch, though
Then i got some mach 1 springs for out back and cut those. it rides on rails now. However, it's a little bit of a rough ride. I have tokico blues, but am going bilstein HD's to see if i can fix it. It's not as bad as you think for the styling and handling gain i received. Plus no more brake dive on heavy braking... It's a much better car after cutting the springs...
So i run a #680 spring up front that is now cut. So i should be at a 700# spring rating give or take
And i run the #250 rating mach's out back which are cut and probably have a #275 rating now...
That's just to give you an idea.

ok first question, Jazzer, do you have some crazy caster angle set up on your front tires? it seems like sit super far ahead of where they normally would be.
Second, Ik you said not to compensate for wheel gap with a bigger tire, but these are the tires i have been using for the winter the past 5 years and its what i used to measure how long i can go. as long as my winter tires fit in there, i should be good. They're General Altimax Arctics, and its a 207/70/15. Had to put em on today as we got almost 3 inches of sloppy wet snow and the pirelli 4 seasons just wern't havin anything to do with the snow lol...
Otherwise i think these tires fill out the wheels very well and I havnt noticed any rubbing or hitting anywhere after dropping it.

Sorry for digging up an old thread of mine, But I wanted to let people know, if they have to drive their stangs in the winter and they are lowered, get a decent set of winter tires and rims. Ive been doing this combo for almost 8 years now with two different lowered stangs and have never had an issue with getting stuck or going silly sidewayz everywhere. Just saying.
