Wheel Offset
 

So I found the wheels I want but before I buy em I was wondering what offset do I need? They come in 24mm and 38mm. Right now my brakes are stock but soon wont be. Any help with this would be nice. (I'm not real sure about the whole offset thing myself not to be a newb)

no problem. You may need to do some more digging as to what range offset you will be allowed depending on the size of rim you are getting and where you are getting them from.

If yuo are getting them from American Muscle, you are bound to know they have the right offset. If you are getting them from Craigslist or something, then you would want to measure them...or test fit them.

Getting them from OE Wheels.

They are another big name in terms of wheels. You should be fine with fitment of any wheel you get from them listed for a 99-04 mustang. You could always call them and ask what the offset of a 99-04 car is...then ask what the allowable range in offset is allowed. Call OE Wheels, and maybe American Muscle and some other places. See what answers you get.

What size wheels are you wanting? This is crutial to figuring out what backspacing you need.

18x9 in the front 18x10 in the rear.

I just picked up a set of Anthracite Bullitts from OE last Thursday (drove down to Sarasota). Great people to deal with.

17x9s up front and 17x10.5s in back, with Nexen N3000 sneakers (244/45 in the front and 275/40 in the back). The tires are "W" speed rated and arguably a bit skinny for the wheel width, but still within mfr. mounting specs. They are surprisingly good handling tires, treadwear 340 so don't expect a ton of grip. They'll be fun 'til I wear 'em out and get some Falken RT-615s.

The finish on the wheels is 110%, color powder coat, then two layers of clear coat. I've had half dozen or more strangers comment on the car just since I got them on Friday morning.

$743.95 ($698.54 + Florida tax--eBay price, get an auction # and give them a call), mounted and "road force" balanced on a Hunter 9700 using adhesive weights--had 'em up to 110 on I-95 this afternoon with no issues.

I am a happy camper and highly recommend OE Wheels.

Sold the 7 year-old OEM "pretty good condition, no curb rash" 17x8 silver Bullitts (with well worn 245/45 and 275/40 RT-615s) for $250, 30 minutes after I listed them on Craig's list (should have asked for more), so my net was $500--I'll get some photos...

PS: I kept the stock Mustang center caps, they popped right in to the OE Wheels. OE supplied some good looking caps with their logo which I sold with the old wheels, and installed chrome valve caps with chrome stem sleeves--I was not expecting that, a class act.

For the rear you'll want the 24mm offset.
