Terminating my Bullitt
#11
I'm impartial to the idea. part of me would keep it a nice clean Bullitt since you don't see them everyday (at least I don't. All I see in my KY area are New Edge V6's). But on the other end it would be a cool project and would turn out nice.
As for middle grounds, if I was still undecided, I'd prob go SC and built motor. Still be a nice clean relatively stock Bullitt but with a little pep lol.

Currently my car has 103k on it. Obviously, as long as I take care of my car it'll run for many more miles. One point that was mentioned that I would be swapping a 6-7 year old motor into my car which is a drawback. But I think this would be unique as opposed to the whole mmr 600 block with a s/c on it. Ya that may be cheaper but I would like to have something a lil more unique. I would consider this like a fox body project when the time comes. This wouldn't happen for at least a couple years due to money and school. It is just a want as of now and not a necessity. I plan to keep my Bullitt for the rest of my years. I am sure that when the time has come to do this, I'll have my dd to drive and this can be in a garage to work on. Just thinking out loud here guys. When the time comes, I should still be here (barring that I become like bolt-on, haha) and will let you know if I decide to undertake this project.

Go for it!!! do something different vs boosting your stock motor. I have a 99 Cobra with 100k miles on it. I am in the process of buying 03/04 drive accessories and converting every last one of them to 03/04 and doing an eaton swap... that what when this bottom end ends up going all I have to do is pop and 03/04 in.
I like to look at a termi swap as its a strong as crap motor that as long as the mods are done with with a reliable tune you'll be good to go for a long time. You cannot beat a motor that comes out of the box like most peoples builds

hes going to be swapping in a 7+ year old motor into his car. its going to cost an EASY 6 grand to do so (go on ebay and see how much a cobra longblock with tranny is listed for, and keep in mind that is not everything like i said usually theres no heat exchanger and stuff like that). i ask what the benefit to pay 6+ thousand dollars to swap in a 7+ year old motor that has 100k+ miles and has been likely beat to s***. for the same price i could do an eaton'd mmr600 swap - having a brand new motor.
the reason certain suggestions are always made, is because they are the cheaper and wiser decisions.

well my thing is price vs. results.

@Crazycarnut- WHat would you go with then?

I'll chime in and say that an aluminator shortblock is brand new $3200 i believe, and then build a DIY vortech kit and you'll wipe up the flow with a stock termie, or beat the ported eaton crowd. I mean even if you find the motor/trans, you still have to worry about fuel system and stuff like that.

30k miles no...thats barely broken in...but do you realize how rare it is to find a termi with 30k miles these days? much less trying to find a motor from a wrecked termi with 30k miles?
