Flowmasters vs Magnaflows, also, a suspension q.
Okay, so I have Magnaflows. I like them, but to me, they're a little bit TOO mellow. Once you stomp on it, they sound VERY nice. But down low, they just sound kinda weak.
I was wondering, to the people with Flowmasters, do you like them? Do they drone wayyyyy too much while on the highway? Because startup and idle and up to 3000 rpms, Flowmasters sound nice. I was wanting people's opinions because I may swap out the Magnaflows in my X-pipe setup and go for Flowmaster 44's. Again, I just want opinions.
Also, as you can see in my sig, my car is a 4x4. Yuck. Its good for speed bumps, that's about it. What is a cheap, yet, good suspension setup that I can buy? I basically want it lowered and maybe to handle a bit better than now.
Thanks!

Flows sound good but do drone and will have more rasp with your current x pipe. If it has cats you'll be fine. But if its o/r, then be prepared for lots of rasp. May I suggest you check out bassanis or borla regular mufflers? If youre still catted, look at the magnapacks or stingers.
As far as suspension, for affordability with lowering and handling upgrade, there is a tokico setup out there for mustangs that gives you shocks, struts, and springs that will lower your car and give you a nice stance and better handling. I cant find it, but I know HPWrestler and Bopiela have had this setup and seemed to like it.

I have had quite a few exhaust set ups on my mustang and I
think that Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers have too much drone
when matched with a X pipe at cruising speeds on the highway.
If you decided to get Flowmasters get the Super 40's or the
Newer 44's because they have alot less drone at highway speeds
and also have less of the notorious 2K rpm drone that the Flowmaster
two chamber mufflers are notorious for.
I have the regular Magnaflow catback on my mustang now and I
know what you mean in the low rpm's they are not that loud and
pretty mellow but,it still sounds good.I found that the regular Magnaflow
mufflers don't come alive until the high rpm's and then they really scream!
That's just how they were designed though.Magnaflow mufflers are one of
the best flowing mufflers out there.
If you have no cats I would get the Bassani or Borla catback.
If you have cats or are willing to get cats I would get the Magnaflow Magnapack catback or the Borla Stinger catback.
As for what suspension set up to get and loss the 4X4 stance I
would look into getting the Eibach Pro Kit or Sportline springs for your
mustang.I currently have Tokico "Blue" struts and shocks and I really
like the ride and feel you get from them. Also Tokico struts and shocks
are a excellent bang for the buck and we all know Tokico makes quality
suspension parts.Look into getting some aftermarket caster camber plates
like the Steeda or MM caster camber plates and don't forget to get a good
alignment after your springs settle from a reputable shop.

If you really want to cheap out, you can have the springs cut for the time being. That'll lower it, might help with handling a bit as well.
My car was lowered that way, I think it looks pretty good. =]
Handles good, but I also have FLSFC's and the springs were cut when I got it, so I can't offer a whole lot of insight on how that will affect your handling.
And have you ever heard MAC mufflers? Mine are through an x-pipe, they SCREAM on acceleration, then quiet down nicely while cruising. Slight drone around 2,000 RPMs, but it's not terrible. I'm usually rocking out to some Lamb of God and don't hear it anyways.
