AUTO SWAP initial track results!!!
After a day of testing the car out at the track, I thought I'd share the initial results of the 4r70w swap.
On the first day of tuning, the car is running 13.2 in the quarter at 100-101mph. Eight mile times are in the mid 8.4s at between 82-84mph. This was with ****ty 1.89-1.9x 60fts also, cause I haven't even started messing with the launch yet. This first day of tuning was solely to try and get the shift-points dialed in which didn't even happen LOL. For some reason, the trans won't hold 2nd gear out to 6200rpm like is being commanded in the tune. The 1-2 shift is right on 6200, but the 2-3 is down in the 5700 range still. So, I know there is at least another tenth or so in there. It definitely bogs at the 2-3 shift right now. Hopefully after doing some datalogging and delving a little deeper into the Sniper software, I can get this shifting problem figured out. I also haven't really bumped the timing much from the base 91 octane tune (which has a pitiful timing curve LOL)
This is far from being the final results of the swap, but I just couldn't help myself from posting the initial results. I will say that it took a couple months to get my 5-speed in the 12s, and I'm already in the low 13s on the first day of tuning with this car as an auto......and it runs the times back to back
Once I get the tune figured out, I'll start working on the launch to get it back in the low 1.7s. I have no idea what this thing wants for a launch rpm or for the shock settings. The suspension is still setup like it was with the 5-speed. Once the tune and launch are dialed in, I have no doubt in my mind that this car will be back in the 12s N/A. I would like to add that the only weight reduction to this car is a removed spare/jack and an Aluminum DS.

Thanks, I have been using the Delta Force software for the tuning. I really need to figure out why the 2-3 shift isn't going as commanded in the tune, cause the car is really falling on it's face on the top end right now.

As far as power goes, I have a K&N drop in filter, 78mm BBK TB/Plenum, TFS UDPs, Electric water pump, JBA shorty's, Bassani Catted X, Borla Stingers, MPH blower cams, and tuned with Sniper Delta Force Software.
I'm sure if I swapped my cams out for a set of N/A cams and ran LTs with an O/R pipe, I would be quite a bit faster as well, but I have plans for another blower in the future and LTs won't help me much at that point either.

I started the tune in SF and then added the timing using the borderline table. The shift adjustments were made in SF though. When I opened the tune in commando, the WOT shift rpm was 6200 for both shifts, but it seems the only one that responded was the 1-2. I'm gonna dig a bit further. I know I also need to modify my torque converter lock-up schedule as well so that when I go into 3rd, it doesn't drop down to such a low rpm as well. My stall speed is around 4500rpm but if the converter locks up before that, it basically just acts like a clutch and will just slowly climb the rpms from whatever rpm it is at. And that happens to be like 3900rpm......ouch lol
