Default Winter Project= New Rear. Calling everyone for opinions.

Well after takling off the 315 Toyo TQs to put stock 16s on to do a few small brakestands with CobraFrenzy, a stud on my passenger side rear snapped. In my mind this is obvious justification for building a new rear over the winter. The current setup is a 31 spline out of an exploder.Trying to figure out exactly what I want to go with, I ruled out a 9inch setup after taking to several pros and they talked me out of it due to suspension geometry issues for a street car so I'm sticking 8.8. I am going to go with 31 spline mosers or Srange S/S axles anyone suggestions? Also would it be worth the extra cash to run Strange C-clip eliminators? (that would mean running the strange axles as well). As far as rear gear ratio goes I think I''m pretty set on 3.73s along with my centri but am open to opinions. My big debate is over the rear diffential. Should I just go with a FRPP 31 spline trac-lok with the carbon fiber clutches??? How much abuse/power/tire can these take because they seem the cheapest option. Other diffs I been looking at is the 8.8 spring loaded eaton unit on american muscle, a detroit true-trac posi, and also the question about running a full spool. I would like to hear someone that has spool expereince on a street car. Is the car dangerous around hard cornering with the spool? Is the driveability going to be THAT bad, etc etc. Let me hear what everyone thinks.

no, see dime ran a mini-spool. Not good. lol Ox ran a full spool on his white beast but then pulled it out i favor for an actual differential. But I believe he was also running a 33 spline setup. Might have been 31, i dont remember. But I would just go with the FRPP 31 spline carbon disc unit. Its rebuildable and holds up better due to the carbon clutch packs used.

Yea a buddy of mine runs a spool in his 12 bolt in his firehawk and its TERRIBLE in the corners...i don't reccomend it for a street car.
