Drove a 2010 Mustang. Impressive.
So yesterday, I was just out and stopped by the dealership and saw a 2010 GT in that grabber blue color that was being sold as used. Man, what a nice car.
Before I bought this GT, I considered buying a 05-09 S197 GT. I've driven the 05-09 model cars, and I never was really...impressed by them. They drove more like boats more than a Mustang, and the interior felt as cheap as my car does. Wasn't worth the extra 8K over the 03 GT I bought to me.
But when I got into the 2010, it fixed everything I disliked about the 05-09. It basically cleaned it up I disliked about the 05 generation. The interior felt like I was in a BMW/Mustang hybrid. Very clean interior, very easy to use and functional. The manual in the GT I drove had a clutch that just felt...perfect. Not to soft, not hard and stiff like my GT of now.
The only thing that sucked was that you could tell it had it stock gearing...as the accelration felt like I was driving my old v6 stang lol. But that could easily be good with some 3.73's at it.
Overall, I was impressed with the Mustang again. I was never impressed with the 05 generation, other than the fact that the 3v engine seems better to work with than our 2v counterpart. But...I think my mind is made up, I was wanting a BMW for my next car, but I think I'd be fine set and dandy on a 2011-ish GT (I want the 5.0 lol, not gonna lie).

Yeah I def want a 2011 now. It's not just a nice car for a Mustang, it's just an overall nice car.
The 05's made me like my car a lot more. The 10's make me want to get rid of my car lol.

the 2010+ Mustangs are definitely a great car all around...add the power of the 2011+ 5.0 and its a perfect platform...I think that the 2011 Mustangs will be one of the most remembered mustangs just because they changed everything that the mustang has resembled...much like the 2003/2004 Cobras. The fact that the new 5.0s can run with any Camaro and Challenger with more cubic inches without a blower is something new From Ford, and impressive nonetheless...I wish I caould afford one...

I'm the same way with the 05-09s. The basic platform wasn't THAT much better than the SN95, in terms of ride quality and suspension setup. They still feel like a coupe/truck hybrid like the SN95 platform feels like, maybe even bigger. And I didn't really care for the primitive boxy styling and the power increase wasn't very drastic of a change from the 99-04. The one thing that 05-09 does well is the 3v's response to mods, but even so, compared to the 98-02 F-bodies, the 3vs were still pretty underpowered stock.
