its not TERRIBLY difficult, but not something i'd reccomend for everyone to do. look in the 4.6 section for oxford's engine build thread, very detailed.
why are you asking us? call a half dozen shops in your area and see what they charge. labor charges are completely different depending on where you live. back in panama city the cheapest place that would install my gears was 500$, every other shop was 750. thats a hell of a lot higher than anyone else i see around here.
but to prepare yourself, assuming you have EVERYTHING part wise right now, i would expect 500-1000$ for labor, plus the dyno tune.

Most of the reputable shops near me are charging $700.00-1000.00
for a cam install.Definitley purchase all your parts before hand.
Alot of stage 1 cams don't require you to install new valve springs
and will save you money on labor and time.
I really like the specs on the Comp Stage 1 cams not bad for a
off the shelf cam.
