steeda clutch cable failure

steeda clutch cable failure
I bought the steeda fwa, quadrant and cable. 3months later the cable stretched on me. I didn't listen to the ones that said not to buy the steeda cable. I should have listened. I just picked up an OEM cable from the local Ford dealer. Will it be okay to use it with the steeda fwa and quadrant combo?

Yes, but I think you'll need to modify it as is noted here..... see Step 8 and beyond

Yeah the aftermarket clutch cables are notorious for snapping,
breaking, and stretching on us Ford Mustang enthusiasts.I also use a Steeda clutch quadrant, firewall adjuster,
and Ford OEM clutch cable.I never had a problem using this combo and it works
great I think. The Ford OEM clutch cables are the best clutch cables to use and
they are the strongest and most durable to use also. When Steeda sent their
Steeda adjustable clutch cable I threw it in the trash can and went to my local
Ford parts department and purchased a Ford OEM clutch cable.

thanks for the responces.
It simply stretched. I haven't had time to replace it so my clutch is wearing prematurely. If I have the car in neutral my clutch is still in motion so you can imagine how much it's being worn. I have a bad feeling I might need a new clutch. I got this new clutch cable like I said but it looks WAYY different than the steeda one, and much shorter at that. I will post a picture of it because it doesn't look right.

The stock cable will stretch as well. The difference is that the factory quadrant is self adjusting. Usually the stock cable will be done stretching by the time someone messes with adding a sold quadrant and FWA. Before that, the factory self adjusting quadrant will pick up the slack.

I sometimes wonder if certain people on this forum have any first hand experience with any parts and part installation, it just seems that specific people have a trend of simply reguritating "majority consensus" parts and brands that come up in most of the threads.
