Got my black 03 cobras 4 years ago from OE very happy with them... I said I was debating them he took me in warehouse and showed me 4 different ones that we're black so I knew what I wanted .. great customer service! !!!

And pretty sure they use a diff manufacturer for wheels

I had a similar experience, in reverse--I had "ordered" black wheels over the phone, and when I got there and saw them had second thoughts, and got the anthracite. No problems at all¹; great people to deal with.

As I understand they have a controlling interest in the wheel manufacturer, and therefore have considerable "clout" to make sure things are right.

¹ - They don't mount and balance the tires until the customer actually shows up--if I were them I'd do the same...

I guess I'm the only one, but I have heard the quality of the OE wheels arn't great, I asked AM what brand their wheels were and they said they couldn't say. So to me that probably means they're not of the greatest quality either. But then again aftermarket wheels tend to not be the greatest to begin with. If you want a good quality wheel go with a factory wheel, or spend 500+ per wheel, not $500 for the set.

Between AM and OE, it comes cown to FINAL shipped price and what each ones has as far as a product line. Depends on what you want.
Actually, aluminum oxidizes, which turns white and powdery.

Personally, I'd go with OE Wheels to get a set of the 17x9/10 10th anniversary deep dish cobras, but thats about it. Just my personal opinion. They are the only ones to offer those wheels so not much choice.
