3.73's vs. 3.9 motive's. I know the motive's use high quality steel but I'm highly concerned about gear whine because I want the 3.9's. My car is a daily driver but I still want the power. How much higher do you think the rpm's will be on the 3.73's vs the 3.9's? And by gear whine you mean higher rpm's right? How much do the 3.73's really do, is it really worth it? Thanks for the help guys.

The rpms will be higher @ the same speed on the 3.90s vs the 3.73's....but the difference might be by a few hundred rpms at most.

There are a few members with 3.90s that don't have any whine issues...same with 3.73's.

the rpm difference between 3.73 and 3.90 is hardly even worth worrying about.
So is the RP oil the mod that gets you to the 315HP in your screen name?

Why do I feel like purp got bored again at work? Lol and 4.10's like said here. And go ford racing for the gears. And as far as gear whine, that is not the car turning higher rpm. Gear whine is a high pitched him that is caused by a bad gear install. If I were you, I would do some searching around before you just create a thread and learn a little bit more and actually come to us with some knowledge. We're all for helping, but when your sig has stuff in it such as a y pipe and royal purple fluids, sounds like they need to do some searching for answers instead of asking the question.
