Engine ticking/tapping/banging when shut off

^^^ having said this it sounds like you got PTV clearance issue and it more noticeable when you turn off your motor. I would pull one head off to check.

I had my cams degreed and ptv was not an issue

I've had alot of cars do that. Sounds kinda like oil is dripping into the oil pan but from a very high distance. Never really gave it much thought since I heard it alot.

Where do you see coolant leaking?

Yea I know it happens but just thought it was weird how it didnt do it before and it does now :/.

I haven't seen it recently, but when I did it was from the back corner of the drivers side head.

ive been having sort of a similar prob, except mine is when i put it in reverse, the whole back of the car drops down and it makes a loud bang and then stalls, no one seems to know whats wrong with it...any help on that one??

when i shut mine off i always think i hear dripping of some sort... like oil dripping back to the oil pan from inside the heads or something??? sometimes i get home at night and listen to it for a minute and always wonder what it is. no banging though

That sound is actually the exhaust manifolds or headers, they get really hot while running and expand, as they contract they make those ticking/banging sounds. Another thoery is that it's the gremlins in your engine trying to break out and mess with the electrical systems, VW owners are quite familiar with them.

Yea I'm just not gonna pay attention to it. I do wanna find out if I definately have a head gasket leak though. I wish it was obvious. I am gonna run a few tests. Compression Test, Rad system test, and the block tester.
