I had a 4.6 block bored .020 over, honed and cleaned for $100. ARP mains installed for $50.

That is done when you have ARP main studs installed.

I really wanted a stroker motor for my car but couldn't find one for the right price. I ended up just buying a forged rotating assembly for the 4.6. And i think that will be enough for me until i s/c it. Seeing as i have TFS heads and an Eddy intake...i think that will make up for the cube difference .

I heard boring the 4.6 doesn't help too much except a LITTLE bit of tourque? So i ddn't think the extra $$ was worth it.

Stroking it doesn't do much unless on a turbo car. Boring it is where the power gain is. A big bore block with a stock stroke will make alot more power then a 4.6l block with a stroker crank even if they are both 5.0L.

^Yea, the bore is where we pick power up at on the 4.6. Strokers n/a usually show a little bit more torque, but thats about it. Not like on the old pushrod motors where you so a stroker you actually gain hp.

Ox, can you do some explaining on the "only on a turbo car" comment? Is it the extra cubes helps spool or something?

Strokers help spool a turbo faster due to more exhaust.

so whats the most you can get the 4.6 block bored at? .020 or .030 over? and if so what size rotating assembly do you need...once i get a DD (within the next few months) I wanted to bore and stroke my block but if a stroker isnt worth it ill just forge whatever is the best option with the biggest I can bore my block now
