Blower cams, worth it without ported heads?
or wait and do it together? Im going to forge my internals and I started thinking about blower cams and porting my heads yada yada while the engine is apart. Curious to see what gains/numbers some of you guys got from your setup. Feel like its money well spent? This is my DD

I dont know anything yet lol. depends on the gains, the money, peoples opinions that HAVE THESE PARTS (sorry teej I had to lol jk). Its just a thought for right now so im curious. But yeah Nick would be the first guy I call

Well...since I know nothing about the subject, I'm going to give my input anyways!!! (love you too dteal!) lol
Actually this is going to be information relayed to me from nick mckinney as he hasn't been on here for a while. He informed me on twin screws like you seem to be interested in switching to usually like a little larger cam than a centri so keep that in mind when selecting cams for your car. Here's the PM...
Roots blowers have more bottom end so we usually run one size bigger cam on them. *KB cars I like to use the Stage 2.5 cams and Centri cars with the plastic intake I like to use the Stage 2 cam. *If the centri has an Eddy intake and wants higher RPM then I go to the Stage 2.5 cam.
I don't see how adding cams wouldn't be a good idea personally. Any gain in power would be welcome, no?
Anyways, hope this is helpful.

1. Would there be any difference in a blower cam for a centri car and a twin screw car? And if so, what would do different about the two grinds? I always just see one set of blower cams and always wondered why this was. I would think that there would be a distinctive difference seeing that the powerbands of both are very diffrrent.

Well from what nick said, run the 2.5's since you'll have a higher revving setup and then if you get a kenne bell you'll be golden.
I don't own them so i can't speculate on them but best of luck.

just look at the guys running stage 1 and 2 NA cams on sc'd engines. havent seen anyone with blower cams without ported heads, but the 1/2 NA cams are seeing some good gains (i recall someone is running s2 na cams @ over 400whp with only 7psi), plus your power curve will be nicer up top with cams. wont see the full potential without heads but it wont be pointless to do either.
