If I remember correctly, I just used an OEM TOB for my car. I am not aware of an upgraded one. I am sure a Cobra TOB will be fine.

EDIT: If I remember correctly, the Cobra one is a hydraulic TOB. That will have to be factored. I think MM&FF did an aritcle on upgrading the factory hydraulic unit. I am not sure what is better, OEM or stock on the hydraulics. I only have experience with GT TOB which are not hydraulic.

Hydraulic clutch assemblies weren't in mustangs till 2005. All factory mustangs from 64-04 had cable style clutch systems. Hydraulic would mean insteal of a clutch cable the car would have a slave cylinder and operate on brake fluid to engage and disenage the TOB.

What you can do for now is to get under there and take off the dust cover and spray the groove of the TOB with some high-temp lithium grease....use ones with the red straw attachment to avoid getting it everywhere else as much as possible.

My TOB was squealing for over a year and this is what I did to buy time, usually got me 4 weeks of quietness per spraying. But you should shoot to change out your TOB entirely sooner than later.

Anyone ever actually had one fail? Mine really dosnt get noisy until i beat my car or sit in traffic for a long time. However the noise has been audible under these conditions for umm 2 years ish Most the time it dosnt come around though as long as i dont drive like **** or really go to town on it. I know i should change soon especially with the new gears hard not to stomp on her

I have had my TOB go out on me about 170mi from home. That turned into a VERY long night. The one raise sepearted at the fulcrum of the shift arm. I could not form leverage to shift gears.
