Default 97 4.6l 2v question

new to ford modular engine, just bought a 97 gt. started off my build with 75mm throttle body, hypertech chip, k&n fipk, flowmaster exhaust with crossover, stage 2 shift kit, what else can I do to get some more HP, was thinking turbo kit? is this possible with a 2v non pi motor? is it worth it? or should I just try and find a cobra motor and if so what year cobra motors will bolt on to my auto transmission? car is pretty much stock other than these mods and has 120,xxx miles. thanks for your input

Well, to answer these questions we will need more info. Welcome too.

What are you power/use goals? Is this a DD, weekend warrior, track only car, etc???

The 2V cars like both of ours have a major problem w/ the heads. They do not flow well at all. Many upgrade to PI heads and intake manifold. This will yield an increase in compression an power for your car. The jump in power will be significant.

Turbos are AWESOME@!!!! They are also expensive and complicated. They pay big dividends when done correctly.

How mechanically inclined are you or do you cash to take your car to a reputable shop to be built?

A cobra engine will bolt up to your trans but, you will have to do some computer tuning to get it to work if I am not mistaken. I have never fooled w/ autos but, many big power cobras actually swap a built auto in for their manual.

Good luck and have fun.
