I noticed coolant leaking on my foot on my drive home today. I am assuming this means I have a bad heater. Everybody tells me it is a big pain in the *** to replace these(meaning big $$$).

1. Anybody ever had this happen to them?
2. What will a new heater cost to have installed?

any help is appreciated.

I read somewhere about a Ford dealer charging around $1000 (obviously most of that being labor) to do the job. For what's involved in doing it or paying to have it done, I would just bypass the core and invest in a nice hoodie.

Its def a PITA but it is just time consuming, taking the dash out is what the PITA is.

thanks guys.....I just bypassed the heater, my mechanic did it for $20. The going rate for R/R of a heater core is $1000.00.
