I think if its more of a track car. Then nitrous is where its at...but if its a street car you're not gonna want to have to keep re filling the bottle if you spray a lot and you'll want that power on the street too.

Just seems like you'd want those "bursts" at the track not the street...

Oh yea nitrous would be worse i think...just cuz of the INSTANT power...

I don't think either would cause too much stress as long as its tuned properly.

Tuning really doesnt have anything to do with the stress involved. Your still going to have the heat and pressure from the blower, and the more violent combustion in the cylinders from the nitrous regardless. all a tune will do is make sure the vitals are there so your motor can keep up.

I mean, if its tuned right I wouldn't worry too much about damaging the motor/blowing it.
Get the right cooling mods etc.. and I wouldn't worry too much, especially since there are tons of Mustangs running all the set ups their debating about.

how come everyone is saying nitrous is violent/instant power? jacking 10lbs of boost into a stock GT at 2k rpm isnt gentle...

the dyno chart on KB's website shows a stock GT with 9lbs of boost is running just under 400wtq at 2000rpm when the KB hits...and at 3k rpm its around ~425wtq.

i couldnt find a stock GT on a 100 shot so i'll use the one im staring at now. full boltons minus headers with a 100 shot put down 470tq at peak on the spray. had 291wtq with the boltons and no spray. found a youtube video a guy dyno'd his stock GT and put down ~271wtq. this gives the nitrous car only 25~ more wtq at 3k rpm assuming it was stock.

i don't have 19 doctorates in physics to determine whats rougher. the above numbers are just part of the equation. one would also have to consider the heat from the blower/cold air from the nitrous (if you are talking overall stress on the motor, exclude those if talking about just the "force" on the rods), and the horsepower levels made at given RPM's, the actual RPM of engagement (im pretty sure the higher the RPM when the "shock" hits, the easier on the parts it is), etc...

both are gonna be rough on a quarter mile pass, i dont see one being significantly rougher than the other though. and for a street car the blower will be rougher hands down. your average person with nitrous doesnt spray on the streets very often. however your average person with a KB, is more than willing to boost on an almost daily basis.

Bottom line is that both will be fine as long as you don't go overboard with either. I would simply pick which ever one that your budget allows.

I think you both need a perma-ban until you can figure out wtf your plans are. Rob I already told ya what I think, and told you how to do it. If you aint gonna take it from me, then sell the damn car and hook up that badass mazda of yours lol
