What the heck is a Mach 1000 sound system?
 

When I bought my 2002 GT yesterday, the salesman was going on about the super duper sound system, which I don't really care about as long as the radio is loud enough to hear, but I assumed it was something someone put in it. But, after a little research it seems like this was a factory option?? I can't really find much info about it, can anyone fill me in on this set-up??

yeah thats a factory option, its not the mach 1000 either, but the mach 460. salesman is an idiot, what a surprise.

It was a factory option for an upgrade off of the Mach 460. IMO, the 2 ten inch subs in the trunk take up too much space and they make they car hevier. However, they do help with traction by a bit. If you think the salesmen was wrong, just pop your trunk and see if you have speakers in there. If you do, its a mach 1000 if not it could be a mach 460 or just the standard one they have.

yes, there are 2 huge speakers on either side in the back, leaving about enough room for a file box in the trunk. there is also a huge amp that says Mach 1000 on it in the trunk.

Um, no. The Mach 1000 is an upgrade from the 460.

Its just a factory added subwoofer and amp setup.
