Default Time for some cosmetics..

Ok boys im startin to focus on the cosmetic side of this car and here's my idea for the outside...tell me what you think and throw your opinions in.

1. 18x9 18x10 Black Chrome Saleens
2. Mach 1 Grill delete
3. Black running pony emblem (grill)
4. Smoked headlights w/ clear corners
5. VHT Tails (glossy, have a buddy that did his and they look GREAT)
6. Paint trunk panel a semi-gloss black.

#6 is the one im iffy on...im not sure if i want it flat black, gloss, or semi-gloss. I just don't know what would look good w/ the black chrome ya know?

Well those are the plans...what do ya think??

I think all of that will look awesome...as for the tail panel..I did mine semi gloss black... I prefer that over the flat..to me totally flat just looks like its faded from the sun...semi gives it that muscle car look of the 60s and 70s...if theres any way you can blow the pic up in my avatar, youll be able to see the rear of my car with the tail lights and semi gloss trunk lid..

Yea thats kinda what i was thinking...plus with the chrome i think its needs some shine..

I may just tint the tails because if i paint the trunk id feel like i had to do something on the hood..cuz i really want to keep the hood clean looking...not too flashy. I want it to be "stockish" looking but just have some little hints

Nice man, the car should look great after all those are done!! I would probably go with semi gloss. Flat black would look dull compared to glossy tail lights but I think gloss would just be too much all the way across. But thats just me.
Either way it'll look sick!

The thing bad about black chrome is the finish does not last long and will peel. If you search the s197 section you can find a thread with that being everyone's biggest complaint. Mine lasted 3 years before they started peeling on spots, and thats with me washing a waxing them regularly.

Semi gloss definitely. The rest sounds good too. You have a black top right? Have you considered the vinyl decal that goes in front of the hood scoop? It's cheap, and if you don't like just rip it off. I'm not sure but i'm thinking that might look good with the theme you're creating.

After looking in to it some manufactures have a different plating process then others. Thats why some come out more durable then others. Oh yeah and go with semi gloss trunk panel.

Better wheels, paint the chrome ring around the pony black and call it a day.

Or just paint it all black since you wanted to get the front pony emblem black too. Either way you'll save money painting it.
