Default What would you charge?

Guy had his gears changed to 3.73s but didn't replace the speedogear. He wants me to buy the gear, come over and change it. What's a fair price? I don't want to go too low as I want the time to be worth my time but not too high to rip this guy off.

What do you all think?

Are you good friends with him? Cuz that might lower the price a bit lol.

How long would it take you to do the job? Come up with a reasonable hourly rate in your head and charge him that on top of the parts.

Are you just changing the gear on the speedo itself? Not the ring gear on the tailshaft? Its pretty straight forward, as long as the bolt comes out of the trans. My old t5 snapped the bolt clean off, was a nightmare. I had mine out of my t45 and it came out good. I'd tell him 20$, plus the cost of the gear, and some beer

Nah, he's a complete stranger. 1200 sound good? lol jk jk I dunno I may just point him in the direction of the parts and a step by step direction page. I don't think it would be worth it to drive out to him and do the work for less than 50 or 60. This is only to make money on the side to save for other stuff anyway.

Confirmed. This Stang in question is a 94 but it applies to all 94-98s.
