Default 2001 mustang GT

considering buying a 2001 Mustang GT 6.4L V8.

I have never owned a mustang before but I have an F150 truck with the same engine so I know its strong on power.

If I get this car I will be on the forums ALLOT!

As much as I should leave vehicles stock I cant , and I don't like to take my vehicles to the shop unless I have no other choice or time.

What opinions do you forum folks have on this model and year mustang ?

guy wants 7k with 68K miles so I thin its a good deal

THANKs FOR THE REPLIES

Gears and a tuner for first Mod. These motors wake up at 3000 rpms so don't be afraid to rev it. I have a 2000 gt and I love it.

I think you have those numbers backwards...try 4.6. The 99-04 gt's are great reliable cars in general. Like mentioned above gears, tune, and a little bit of exhaust work be a nice little bang for the buck.

If the car is in really good shape with those miles, the 7k is not a bad deal. Not awesome but not too bad.

Welcome aarbeh to MF, from beautiful British Columbia, Canada!

I used to have a '99 GT...great car! No probs...the 4.6 is almost 'bullett-proof'
You really can't go wrong at $7K

Let us know how your negotiations go...and put up some pics!

Default dream car 2001 GT

hahaha I just realized I typed 6.4 and should have typed 4.6

I wish It had a 6.4 ! could you imagine ?

thanks guys for the welcomes and advice.

I think exhaust will be first on the list and new tires.

down the road maybe gearing and tuner down the road

maybe mid header pipes with flow master cans ........

but 1st gona replace crappy CD player !

I will certainly post pics If it all works out. 7K is allot for me but I am gona sell my truck and motorcycle so I only need 3K loan

hows insurance for these cars ...... Im 32 with a clean driving record, no kids , not married, no house (thank jebus LOL) ? kinda hard to answer I know so estimates are welcome.

THANKS AGAIN

i think for the milage, thats a pretty good deal; insurance could be anywhere from 40-80 bucks per month. as mentioned, these lil 4.6 stangs are pretty reliable; you may like under drive pullies with the gears. good luck!!
