Rear 315/30/18 tires
For those of you that have gone with these tires which brands did you prefer? I am looking for 315/30/18 tires, these are for 18x10.5" rims of course. The 3 i have been looking at mainly have been the Pirelli Rosso, Falken Azenis RT-615K, and Yokohama ADVAN Sport.
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...15&ar=30&rd=18 what do you guys think? I wont be paying those prices but those are the 3 i have been lookin at for now. |
I have the falkens, Although they arent mounted yet. I picked mine up for 300$ a pair so deals can be found on them. They come in exactly at 12" wide. Heres two pics of mine.

Dem's some nice tires, AYEO :D
I run PS2's on my Winter wheels and R888's on my Summer set and both are great. This really depends on what your needs are. The 888's are an "R" comp, so will not be good for anything very cold or even approaching freezing. The PS2's take a while to warm up, but grip like sum-o-bitch once they are. They don't grip as well as the 888's and take much longer to get warm, but a smidge better in the wet *rolls eyes* Reguardless of what you do, they are gonna be expensive...... OOOOOO, I will PM you a link for 888's that is a great deal... check your inbox :D Jazzer :) |
Those some sexy beasts there aeyo, let me know how the fitment is on them once you have them mounted. Thanks jazzer, im lookin into those now.

Thanks for the compliment guys, they are going on 18x10.5 03-04 Satin cobra reps from AFS. Fenders are getting rolled first and also buying spacers from lethal. Ill throw some pics up when i get em on but it wont be for awhile. Most of my money right now is going into my SC kit. /hijack

18x9 AFS cobras, most likely a 285/35/18 if the guy still has them, if not idk. I try not to buy new, i jump on deals as they come along. I already have my supercharger btw, im just piecing together the neccessary supporting mods.

You dont need spacers for the 315's. You wouldnt even need spacers for 335's on an SRA car. I needed them because I have an IRS and the subframe bolt is terribly close to the inner sidewall of the tire.
And Jazzer, helping a fellow "large meat" fan out. NICE! ;) |
Yea, im gettin those tires that jazzer hooked me up with on tuesday :)
|
Man I wish I would've taken pics of my new set of 315/30/18 Hankooks. I remember thinking that they wouldn't fit under my car lol. Gotta love it, those things gave my car a completely different stance. The idiot that I bought the wheels/tires from had 275s on the 18x10.5s.

I prefer the 315/30/18 Nitto's because they run more narrow
and overall have better fitment. |

Ok, so the way i see it youre looking an R888's, Falken RT615's, and RA1's, correct? The RA1's are 335's, and they are $50 cheaper than the other two. And shipping would probably be about the same as the two other tires you are looking at buying. They are what I would vote for.
|
Jazzer thinks that a 335 needs at least an 11.5" wheel to fit properly :D
He votes Falkens if this is a year 'round driver and does not see freezing conditions. He votes R888's if this is a second set of tires on separate wheels for Summer/track use only. Me :) |
I'll have to get you some pictures of my tires that show how good of a fit they are on a 10.5" wheel. The only bulge there is just covers the lip of the wheel as the tires dont actually have rim guard built into them.
OP, R888's and RA1's do not have rim guard built into the sidewalls to keep the lip of your wheel from being damaged too. Something to think about. |
I think I'm going to pick up a set of the falkens and the r888's :) I luckily have a set of 18x10.5's for both a summer and winter set
|
Smart man, you can never have too much rubber =)
|
Picked up the falkens and r888s and also picked up some 275/35/18 falkens for the 18x9's as soon as they're mounted I'll have my dad send me some pics of those sexy beasts. Thanks jazzer, teej and aeyo for the help and the hookups :)
