Well, you say you want to do it so do it if you like it, after all it's your car. I think it must match your body color and it works but I like the chrome accent better. My $0.02

my 69 Cougar had the matching pinstripe from the factory. it would have looked awesome if the had been repainted the factory color.

I think chrome/color on the lip is much better than total black. I am a big fan of chrome on black wheels as opposed to all black. Not sure about the color lip, but from what I have seen, I think it would look good, too...

Absolutely not. Looks like trash. I've got a black BMW with red lip like that, and it truly looks like sh*t
