03/04 COBRA or SUPERCHARGER
#11
If money wasn't an issue I'd say Fck the Cobra and buy a lambo or a porsche 911. But this is reality. Be creative, build your car how you want it and thats it. No matter what way you cut it, whether its with the GT or Cobra, the mod bug will bite you in the *** and you will end up spending gobs of money either way.

I say get the cobra. I have had a few mustangs so far and the terminator is my favorite. The power gains you get from simple bolt on its just crazy. Hell you even get good power from just adding an intake lol.
Another option is to do some crazy/sick turbo build on your car.

If money matters Cobra, if money doesnt matter, Cobra. I have a KB supercharged GT and I most definitely DO NOT regret doing that but if I had it my way id take a Cobra hands down. The only reason I do not have a Cobra is because I needed a car like IMMEDIATELY when I got my GT and its all I could finance for. With the Cobra you get better looks, you can retain the value even though you mod, 4V heads, forged internals good up to 800RWHP or so, better tranny, IRS, brakes, interior etc. Its really worth it on the grand scheme of things to finance for a Cobra if its feasible. I would however regret downgrading to an Eaton blower. I personally would not buy a Cobra until I had the cash to throw a KB on it that day. I will never ever ever own and or daily drive a car that doesnt say Mustang and Kenne Bell on it, period. My experience has been that good from the moment I first bought this car up to today.
BTW for anybody wanting a REAL, HONEST breakdown of the cost of supercharging a GT..... heres one I did on my KB thread.
"Bought the car for 12k in September of 2008 with 50,000 miles on the tach
MAC Catbacks - $300
SCT SF3 Handheld - $350
J-MOD Valve-Body for Auto tranny - $300
B&M Transmission Cooler - $70
Used KB 2.1L Intercooled kit - $4,400 shipped.
Kenne Bell Cold Air Intake w/ 90MM MAF - $573
4.6L 2V Weapon-X COPS - $270
NGK TR6 Spark Plugs - $25
AutoMeter Ultra-Lite Boost/Vac Full Sweep gauge - $50
A-Pillar gauge mount pod - $25
Random fittings/hoses/belt/parts to finish install from having used kit - $100 - $150
Tools = $0 I luckily had access to anything and everything I needed between my tools and work.
Dyno Tune + Check up on my install + fix leaking passenger rear injector=$450
Total = $18,923"
So you do the math.....you're paying for a Cobra. And those costs don't even include regular maintenance.

Sorry, but for $19k you're looking at 75-100k bone stock, daily driven termis.
I'm sure your car sounds better than a stock termi, and probably runs better than a stock termi.
For a decent termi, you're still looking to be spending $27+k all said and done, unless you settle for a beat and worn high mileage termi.
Than you also get into insurance. Termis are obviously more expensive to insure month to month. God forbid the car gets in an accident, you have a higher repair bill, IF the car can be repaired, oem body parts are few and far between now. Mods for termis are even more expensive.
