Default Most god wrenching smell

Well, the header burned a hole through one of my AC lines, and the most god wrenching smell surfaced from within, let alone a green substance of some sort. Three questions:

Whats the name of this line? the one the goes from the firewall to the condenser - (goes from metal to rubber to metal again with heat shield covering over rubber area)

and Where can i get one?

whats a good ball part cost on getting it vacuumed and refilled?

I just checked the Autozone site and they listed 4 different A/C hoses so odds are you can go to any Autoparts store and get one.

^^^ Couldn't be more wrong on the vacuum not needed.

It needs vacuumed out to get out the contaminates(moisture and dirt mainly) since the line was open with a hole in it.

If it's the larger diameter of the two the it's the suction ( low pressure) line. And yes, as previously stated the system will need to be pulled into a vacuum before recharging.

The expression is "gut" wrenching, as in vomiting--not "god" wrenching, which sounds as though it would be god fixing your car, likely a good thing.

Oh. +1 it will have to be evacuated after bursting a line...

You should also have the inline condenser/dryer changed as it too has been contaminated. If you just replace the line and refill the system under vacuum, there will still be moisture in it from the condenser/dryer.

Expansion valve may also need replacing. Cheap parts to fix now or your work will be wasted in farily short order.
