Default Only change H-pipe?

If I only swap the factory H-pipe with an off-road version (no cats) will I see any improvement in performance and/or sound?

It seemed to me, that when I owned my old 5.0, that people noticed when I removed/replaced the H-pipe to get pass emissions testing in the area. Is that same thing true of the 4.6 with factory mufflers? I'm sure I will break down and get 40's or something silly loud down the road, but will it sound better just changing the H-pipe out?

Thanks!

The catless midpipe will make it sound better/louder. You won't see much performance gains. Get some flowmaster 44s after you get the midpipe

When I replaced my H pipe it really woke my car up. Both sound and performance. I had a catback already though.

when i first got the car, the first thing i did was swap out for an mrt catted h. that was the only mod i had made, and the sound improvement was awesome. it sounded much more muscle car like - also felt a tad quicker, but didnt test that at all.

You will never feel the tiny change in performance, but the sound will improve a lot!!!

Yeah, I think I might be able to leave the current tailpipes and just change the hpipe + mufflers. I always use the flowmaster 40's in my cars, whenever I do I get complimented and who doesn't like that? However, every car I own or have owned with 40's ends up getting pushed out of the garage before I start it when I leave early with the master bedroom right above it. H well, it is worth it.
