So, I've had my mustang since I was 17 years old, bought it myself, and have been only able to slowly modify it due to College tuition etc. Finally landed a big enough internship to make enough money this summer to do what I've wanted since I got the car. It's a 99GT 5spd. with current mods in my sig below. I'm pretty much set on the Hellion single turbo set up, and know that I'll only be tuning it to around 400-420 to the wheels due to my stock bottom end. That's not the problem, my question is does anyone know where I can get the best deal? I've been looking around for a little over a month and don't have too big of connections to really get the deal that I want. I'll be able to pay the full asking price, but would obviously like to cut costs as much as possible without lowering quality, hence the choice to go with Hellion. If you guys have any connections and/or could lead me in the right direction that would be great. Also, I'll be working in Indianapolis this summer and was looking at ordering from Brenspeed. I'm currently at Purdue University if anyone is local. Thanks guys!

I'm just curious, do you plan on running the 4.10's with the turbo?

Yes, I do. I originally wanted a KB 2.1L but with the 4.10s I'll pretty much lose 1st and 2nd gears. I've also considered the Novi2000 and the D1-SC but I'd rather have the turbo cuz they're few and far. More unique IMO.

I agree the turbo is much better, but i'd be willing to bet the 4.10's with the turbo will just as unmanageable as it would be with the Kenne Bell. Even though it won't have the same instant hit as the KB, you'll make a lot more torque with that turbo.

Honestly, i think it would be fun as hell though lol. I run 3.90's with my nitrous, and when it hits 1st & 2nd can be lots of fun.

i agree with mrt about the 4.10's. Step down to 3.73's and give me a really good deal on your 4.10's. lol

Idk, I installed the 4.10s myself with little help and still have my 3.27's if absolutely necessary. I'll keep 'em and decide after the install. I put them in last summer since I had really wanted an extra umph but didn't have the funds for a power adder. The best mod so far hands down.

I'm most likely not gonna beat on it too bad in 1st and 2nd anyway. At least not on the street so it shouldn't be too unmanageable.

Anyway, if anyone could direct to me to any better deals or connections, preferably unused kits/units, I'd be very grateful. Thanks again guys.

I have a Novi Paxton 2000 S/C w/ intercooler on my car. It's great!!! My friend just bought a turbo kit for his GT last week.. I will ask him in about 45 minutes where he got it, and how much it cost. And respond back after while. Im new to the whole forced induction thing. But Ive been under the impression superchargers are belt driven and instant power from low rpms on up.. and turbos arent instant, they have to build up in the higher rpms. But once again thats just what I hear.. Im a rookie at the technical stuff.

the issue with 4.10's isnt that the car will be out of control in 1st or 2nd gear.. the issue is that 4.10's do not strain the engine enough to build boost as well as a 3.55 or 3.73 will

Sorry for that last post, I guess you can't leave your computer logged on at a fraternity for more than 30 secs before it gets messed with.

Anyway, killjoy, I was curious about that problem. I've heard both sides. One being that the 4.10s get you up to RPM quickly enough that the lack of boost due to mechanical advantage is negated, but as you pointed out, if there is a lack of building boost, then I'm clearly not running as efficiently as possible and may have to negate it with more boost, which could in turn blow things up.....

Hopefully I don't run into that problem.
