I went with brighter bulbs when I got my smoked housings, I actually can see a good deal better than OEM now..

I'm not going to do that with out a projector housing to concentrate the light output.

Hell I would even rock these with a smoked corner... With the back of the housing painted black (I would paint over the reflective part for the hi-beams though) it gives the appearance of a smoked headlight but you still get full light output.

Thats what I've heard, but everyone I saw hasn't had them long, or only uses them in the summer for a weekend car. I drive 25k miles a year all year so my car sees salt and sun and takes some abuse because of it. I just don't want headlights that are going to have to be replaced in a couple years, because I would consider that a waste of money.

Has anyone bought cheaper headlights and had good luck? Or should I just buy the AM lights?

My friend got ebay lights, sealed them with clear silicone and one still fogged within a week, the other one a month later.
He got the AM ones and sealed them they same and they have been in for 6 months with no worries.

Damn, now that's old school haha. I'm not into projectors though, I just want a set of regular plain 01-04 factory lights that will last as the Ford ones do.
