^Word, there is a guy over on SVTPerformance.com that is a hellion dealer that was willing to cut me an AWESOME deal on a kit. I'll have to get back to you on username for him though. Also, American Muscle now carries Hellion turbo kits and they offer a forum discount to veteran/active users as well.

With a blower you want a higher gear to get the rpm's up. With a turbo, you definitely want the load on the engine to build boost. Go with a 3.55 gear or back to 3.27's

Hmmm, I really wanted to keep my 4.10s, guess I'll have to re-consider that this summer before I get the kit. Is there a way to counter this problem with a different sized turbo? I really don't think I'd need to go bigger than 67mm especially since I just want it to turn into my nice weather car after college anyway.

I'm not all that up on turbos, but i would think that 4.10's with a turbo making around 400 rwhp (and quite a bit more torque) would be an absolute blast on the street. It may not hook worth a damn at first, but i would imagine the fun factor would be awesome.

In the nicest way of saying this.....

Jump onto theturboforums and learn more about turbo kits man. Straight up, you need to learn a hell of alot more about them before you can move forward with one.

PurpleIcedGT, I'm well aware that I'm not fully knowledgeable about turbos, but thanks. No hard feelings on my part. lol

I'll look up some stuff on the turbo forum and start from there, thanks for the help.

BTW, I'm def not a noob in the mustang/mechanical/auto world, just turbos.

So, I did a little more research and found the logic behind gears and turbos. Basically the steeper gears (my 4.10s) will not allow the turbo enough time to spool up and will prevent the elongation of the powerband to actually make it to the pavement, thus making me much slower. Looks like I might ask my friend for his 3.55s or go back to my 3.27s. Thanks guys, I might have to try the 4.10s though, just for kicks!

After the turbo, get a stroker kit, the extra long stroke will help build boost(lever arm) and you'll have more torque than you know what to do with.
