Default Cheapest 99-04 build to beat this 06' 4.6...

he's got a supercharger, long tubes, and small cam , dynod at 476 rwhp at 8 psi.

the route i wanna take is a with a crate motor, i've got a cobra replica lined up with a blown motor, dude threw a rod through his block on the dyno... I told him to keep his supercharger because i want something faster and possibly bigger than the 4.6, that and its gonna make him come off of his price... A LOT

suggestions?

You'll only do a crate motor? It might be cheaper to build and forge your current motor or do the 4 valve, and slap on some nitrous. I'm sure you would walk him then.

I would do a swap and put an 03/04 termi motor.

If I'm reading his post correctly the current engine has a window in it from a rod so that block is no good. You could swap in a pushrod motor since you can get the crate engines so cheap, but you're going to need a k member to do the swap cuz I don't believe the mounts line up at all. If you're looking for the cheapest possible route you might wanna look for a junkyard 4.6, rip it apart and rebuild it with some better internals and do some headwork if you know anyone. Then slap a nitrous kit on it.

if its at all possible to avoid spraying it, i'd like to

id much rather it be all motor so i can consistently run him and smoke him without that kind of wear and tear on the pistons

i saw that jegs sells the 4 valve 5.0 for 6500, and another 1500 for the engine control kit that comes with the pcm, etc..

as long as i can pick up that cobra replica shell for around 2-2500 i think i'll be ok and thats all relatively cheap for the performance i can pull out of it

But you still have to look into the mounts. If the mounts are placed differently on that engine that on the 4.6 then you're going to be looking at a k-member or some fabrication to get that motor to fit in a new edge.

lol, whats 'fail' is the cool guy trying to stay current with internet flaming lingo

stop hating because i actually have the money to start a project

just because im looking for a cheap route besides what im already planning doesnt mean i NEED to be cheap

i want power and im willing to pay for it, i just want to get the most out of a car by making sure its drivetrain is solid

excuse me for not wanting to buy a car from someone like you, bolt on a blower, spray it and hope the **** holds up

building on a high mileage motor is beneath my standards and if im gonna buy a crate motor, why just buy what was already there originally?

don't be mad when im making twice your rwhp and then you wonder why your rings are shot after your 7th bottle fillup
