Okay I'll see if I can get that harness out of the way a bit more, right now it seems to be wedged in there pretty tightly to where I can't even move it. The engine is tilted back as far as it will go on its own, and the starter is laying on the ground beside the car, so no worries there at least.

Well I finally got a buddy to take some time and come help with the transmission for a couple hours. So after all of those hours trying to get this thing out it literally took us 5 minutes. Got the wiring out of the way and it was just a matter of me telling him to angle it just a little bit, and as soon as he pulled back in came free. Next step is to find someplace to resurface my flywheel and shorten the driveshaft.

Yeah, that wiring harness behave as though there were a steel rod blocking the bell housing from pulling back--glad you got it!

You and me both. I was wondering though, while everything is out should I replace the pilot bearing? After all of this I don't really want to go through this all again down the road.

Well I guess that was my newbie question for the day then, I'm sure there's more to come. While I'm asking dumb questions, is it even worth having the flywheel resurfaced, or is it money well spent to just buy a new one?

And be prepared to get a new one if it is badly scored or burned. With the direction you are headed "mod-wise" I am surprised you are not replacing it with one offering higher performance?

Well see that's the thing, this whole project is a bit of a learning experience. I really wasn't sure how good or bad the stock flywheel is. Not to mention this whole transmission was a bit unexpected budget wise already.

Well another update for you guys, even if it isn't much. I've been stuck on this damn pilot bearing for the last week or so. Advance Auto's puller they sold me didn't work at all. Tried using the wet paper method I saw posted on here somewhere, didn't work. Tried grease method, didn't work. I almost got to borrow a slide hammer from a mechanic, but since the boss wasn't there, one of his workers told me to just take a chisel and cut through the race and it should come out. Gave up for the day after several times of hitting my head and once of catching a falling chisel and chiseling my finger lol. Any suggestions to try next? My uncle said he would come try to get it today if I couldn't, but I'd like to be able to get it myself.

Getting the puller through the tool loan program at autozone is your best bet and its basically free. I never had luck with the alternate methods like grease, wet paper or bread. You can chisel it out but thats a task under a car. Borrow a good puller and save yourself the headaches.
