99 Cobra SVT?
Hey fellow Mustang lovers!
I recently came across a 1999 Cobra SVT that's been pretty tricked out. He claims the chassis has about 160K miles on it, but the engine was rebuilt with a competition cam 50K miles ago as well as a new transmition less than 5K miles ago with aluminum flywheel and stage 2 clutch. Has a K&N filter, Bassani X-Pipe, full exhaust (doesn't say which brand though), Eibach Pro kit, tokico blue shocks, new radiator, the rear end was rebuilt with new 373 gears also has the newer 03/04 cobra rims on it with the matching brakes almost all new urathane bushings under the car has tan leather interior no rips the outside has a few small dents.
All for only $8000.
What do you experts think? Is it worth it? I love the Cobras and would love to get one. What are some things I should watch out for or look at? The car is about 45 minutes without trafic away from me, so I want to get as much info as I can before making the trip.
Any tips, suggestions, thoughts ect would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-Mike

to give you a little reference i paid 9400 for my 96 cobra with 98k miles on it. Great condition completely stock. I would say it kind of depends on what you want, seems like a bad machine, alot of mods, but you hafta think a car with those kind of mods, that cars been rode hard and put up wet pretty often. All up to you, i can't say i wouldn't buy it, just depends on how it looked and ran.

Just remember that chassis has 160,000 miles on it which is a lot of miles, if the car has been beaten on. Even though he claims the engine is rebuilt it still has 50,000 miles on it. Not a fresh motor. How well was this motor treated and taken care of during the 50,000 miles? My recommendation is if you do not know much about these cars, then take someone along with you when you check it out. If you have no one to take along, have a mechanic check it over. Just my opinion.

That's one you need to see in person. Could be a good find if it was well maintained and the person who rebuilt it knew what the hell they were doing. 12 years old and 160k is about time to start replacing every single rubber bushing on the car, before they fail.
