Default Help. Is this a scam?

http://fortwayne.craigslist.org/cto/2265758634.html

I saw this add on craigslist and it sounds to good to be true. It seems to me that the asking pirice is very low for having a 2.5 grand crate engine with that few miles on it. It also seems that there is alot of junk on the engine for it being that new. I have talked with the guy and he said he is trying to sell it because he has another mustang and is now into bikes. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

That does not have a different motor. Cobra motors are aluminum in 2001+ they also have a completely different setup. The motor in that car is a 2V not a 4V. From what I can tell that motor looks to be in rough shape, a lot of wires seem to be loose in the pics.

The 2003 and 2004 Cobras had cast iron blocks.

from click here

Both years of the SN95 2, or New Edge, Cobra Mustang shared the same drivetrain and other major features. Forged internal engine components and a reversion from aluminum to a cast iron block help ensure the bottom end can handle the boosted power. The engine produces 390 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 390 foot-pounds of torque at 3,500 rpm, compared with the 2001 model’s 320 hp at 6,000 rpm and 317 foot-pounds of torque at 4,750 rpm.
I do agree that that engine looks dead stock, and is filthy to boot...

[edit]
2V heads can be installed on a "4V" block...

Its very possible that the car has a MMR bottom end. I would definitely get proof though.

Ford played it up as a change to support the higher output--the fact that it cost less was never part of the decision-right?.
