Default 2003 gt, Getting a Vortech SQ v2 supercharger installed on my mustang! Need Help

Hey guys I have a 2003 gt vert, my upgrades are 4:10 gear with a SCT tuner, O/R H pipe, dual flowmasters, and a short throw shifter. I purchased a buddy of mines Vortech SQ- V2 super charger from him, it came with everything but fuel injectors. My question to you guys is do I have to get my car dyno tuned to run the supercharger safetly and effectively, or can I just pay for a custom tune on my SCT tuner. Additionally, I believe I need 38 or 39 pound fuel injectors, where is a good place to pick those up from. I dont have any knowledge of cars or I would install this myself so a friend of the family said he would do it from 600 to 7000 is that a good deal ?

Any info would greatly help

thanks guys

Myself personally i would never use a canned tune for a f/i vehicle. I would throw it on the dyno and have it done professionally. 600-700 sounds about the same you would pay to go to a shop for a s/c install, i know i was quoted that for my procharger when i had it. Make sure which # injectors your maf is calibrated for before you go spend the money for the injectors. Once you do that you can find used fuel injectors for fairly cheap on alot of these mustang websites. If there's none here try corral or svpt.

I was quoted 750 for my supercharger install, that included the blower, fuel system, and a bap. I also would never go with a canned tune, but i do know people that run the KB canned tune with there kb's and all is well. It depends on how much money you want to spend and how much you want to get out of it.

A canned tune will be very conservative. Spend the money at a GOOD/GREAT shop to have it tuned. They will be able to calibrate to make your maf work with any injectors you get. Personally I would go with 60lb injectors. They will be close to the same price and they will not need to ever be upgraded. I say this because I just put a vortech on my car and My tuner had to set my rev limiter to 5700 rpm's because my injectors were going static at 5800 rpm's. You can figure 10 hp for every 1lb of injector. 38lb injectors max out close to the 380hp range.
