Default My 5.4l Swap update!

Well my engine is here!! (Here's where I got it http://www.123engine.com/ford1.php its perty.) And I got some great 39# injectors off of (ttoney)'s Terminator Cobra. Everything is going smoothly untill today. The HPS 5.4l Hardball'r intake is on a 4-6 week back order. (http://www.hiperformancesolutions.com/54.html). So now I will just stare at my car in the garage and make beer bets on the power numbers it will have.

A list of what it will have.

Fully rebuilt and machined 5.4l 2v
HPS 5.4l HardBall'r intake manifold
Bassani off road x pipes / Magnaflow mufflers.
PP 75mm TB/Plenum
Roush CAI

So far this project has been fun and relatively easy. This is my first time doing an engine swap or any major modifications to car. any one could do this. I will try and do a write up when it is complete I hav e been taking many pics and video of my progress so stay tuned.

just curious but what kind of hp will a 5.4 swap get u...idk much about the engine so is it gonna be a big difference over the 4.6? considering the 5.4 is basically stock that is and not with lots of go fast parts added.

The swap is pretty straight forward, but there are some issues depending on how you do it. You will need an 8 bolt 11 inch flywheel from a 4.6 mustang. I got mine used from a performance shop for 50 bucks and resurfaced it. You also need a tensioner pulley for a 5.4 because the 4.6 will not swap over, but the rest of your pulleys will. You need to grind off the nub on the passenger side exhaust manifold so it will not rub against the frame. The oil dipstick from the 4.6 can be used you just have to drill a new hole for the bolt and use a washer to clamp it to the block.

These are just some of the things you will have to do, but I will do a complete write up after my manifold gets here. heres some pics
