my ongoing nitrous install thread...

Throughout the next couple days I'm gonna get my nitrous kit in piece by piece. Figured I'd take some pics along the way just because i'm bored

Todays mission was to get the microedge installed along with the wiring part of my wideband. It was cold and rainy today so I didn't feel like doing anything outside of the passenger compartment lol. so here's pics from today:

where my gauges will be, the panel will be painted black, just wanted to make sure it fit ok. there will be a trans temp gauge accompanying it eventually.

microedge hiding in the center console:

microedge on, all wiring complete other than the arming wire, ran out of wire and need to get a switch.

and here's another view in the center console, those 2 holes will be for my 2 switches after I get them tomorrow. one will be to arm the nitrous and the other will be for the bottle heater.

I'll update again tomorrow, Hopefully I'll be able to get the wideband all in and ran. get the switches in, and possibly get jeffy mounted in the trunk if I'm up to it.

Very cool! What kind of kit is it?

Those gauges look good. And i like the stealth look. Did you make the thing to hold the gauges out of aluminum? I am planning on putting my switches where you put your gauges and was going to make my own holder out of aluminum. I have the same headunit as you

And how did you mount your bottle? I have a speaker box in the trunk of my car so i couldnt fit the bottle on the actual metal in the trunk so i mounted mine on the wood that covers the spare tire, but it shakes around some. Will that be ok? or no?

Damn I wish I had the knowledge to wire my own stuff. When I get my nitrous kit and all the other bells and whistles that come with it I'll have to take it somewhere to get it done. I'd like to make it look stealthy but it looks like you have to gut out a lot of your interior to do so? I might just have to go with the typical pillar gauges :(

Where the radio goes it is really really easy to take it apart hammach, just dont be rammy and break stuff. I will have my dash apart to run my wires as well. I am going for the stealthy look

Jealous. /end of my comment.

this part was extremely easy. I got my ground, switched power, and my tps/rpm signal from the area by the pcm. it took about an hour and a half to do all that. The only thing i ripped out to do this was the kickpanel covering the pcm which was just one push pin, the little holder thing that was in place of my cd player(where the gauges are) the shift bezel which just pulls right out, and then the actual center console pocket thingy, which is just 2 screws. pretty simple.

dwtjr, the panel is made out of .1 thick steel. I jet it out of a waterjet and fit pretty damn perfect. it's nice and snug in the console so no screws or anything will be needed to hold it down. And I haven't mounted the bottle yet I'm hoping to just put it right on the side of the trunk.

mrt the kit is kind of a mix of everything lol. It's mostly a nitrous works kit, It's got nitrous works solenoids/lines/bottle. Then a upr bottle holder, nx nozzle/jets/bottle heater, nos bottle pressure gauge, and hsw microedge.

Your kit sounds a lot like mine lol. NOS solenoid and lines, Edlebrock bottle/nozzle/jets, Zex bottle heater, NX bottle pressure gauge, MSD window switch.

Hey as long as it's reliable and makes kick a$$ power, then that's all that matters lol.
