I always thought 245's were a little skinny on the 9" wheels. It's really the only other recommended option if 275 is too big and the 255's already rub. I think Tire Rack always says 245 when I tried tires through them.

I had my Cobra R on my GT (They have 275-40-17 on 9" rim) and the tremming (if thats how its spelled) is awful but it could be bad bumpsteer too.Not sure really.

its pretty confusing to set the 2 apart.
I put them on my 97 Cobra now and its almost as bad.

Both cars are lowered about a 1.5" so Im really leaning towards bumpsteer.
But the weird thing is if I have my stock 245 45 17 on both cars all around its fine. Bumpsteer or tires are to wide for front (Confused)

I think Ill be putting 255-40-17 or going with 245-45-17 on front soon on my 9" Cobra R

I replaced my 255 with 245/45/17 and I don't have any rubbing issues anymore. Drives great, love the 245 front 275 rear set up. Wish I would have changed earlier!

Good deal now you see the "REAL WORLD" first hand experience on how good the 245s feel up front even on the 9" rim. Now whenever that argument of "275s up front on a 9inch rim" comes up you can jump right in bc you went from 255s to 245s and you see the clear difference that smaller tire just feels better no matter what is said. i went from 275s up front to 245s the 245s felt alot better on the drive/ride and turns. but 275s out back should be more than fine.

If 255's rubbed up front, this is an off-set issue with the wheels and NOT related to the tires. Unless this was an unusually high profile tire, like maybe a 50 series or something.
