Default Need nitrous guys to chime in

So I'm getting ready to purchase a nitrous system, have a few in mind but can't really decide which one to get. Anyways, along with my purchase I might be getting an MSD window switch (heard alot of people recommend those). Now here's my question, lets say hypothetically the window switch to set so the nitrous activates at 3500 RPM's and is set for the nitrous to shut off around 5900 RPM's (right before my redline). If I am on a 1/4 mile track and go WOT, will the nitrous activate everytime the RPM's hit 3500 or will it activate only one time? I have been reading alot of posts about window switches and I am a bit confused. Thanks guys.

I'll make this as simple as possible. If the pedal is to the floor, and the rpms are within your specified range, the nitrous will hit (assuming the bottle is full and kit is armed) when you shift and hit the gas again, the nitrous will still go through the same process as before

So technically since my car is a 4 speed automatic, the nitrous will hit 3-4 times depending on how my times my RPM's hit 3500 RPM's on the 1/4 mile track. If that is true, is that good for the engine?? Sounds like a little bit too much.

As long as it's tuned for any you have everything setup right, the engine will be fine.

I have mine setup to spray between 2800-6000. Been doing it for 3 years without a single problem.

Well if its shifting at 6000 wide open, it should put it back around 4 in the next gear, the nitrous will continue to spray the whole time.

That's good to know.

Bare with me, I'm still learning. Now if I don't get a window switch and use the micro switch attached to the gas pedal, that means I will spray the entire time I am at WOT, correct? So in other words, as soon as I hit the gas at the track, the car will spray the entire length of the 1/4 mile until I let off the accellerator? I just don't know if I should get a window switch or not.

If you don't do the window switch the car will spray nitrous at any rpm when you're at WOT.

Being that you have an auto it's not as important as it is with a manual, but it's still good to have since spraying at much less than 3k will create excessive cylinder pressure.

with an auto the window switch is basically just insurance. Leave the car in drive, do your launch, once you get the Rs up in 1st flip the switch and let it eat. Pretty simple

One more ques, is a purge kit something that is a must have or not? Dang, the more I talk about getting nitrous, the more excited I get. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning cause I have never been in a car with nitrous before.

not a must have, the kit works without it.
