Default Bleeding the brakes on a 97 gt

I'm building a project car. The car starts butt I can't keep it running because I don't have a belt in it yet or my a/c delete kit yet . Does ne one know if u are able to bleed the brakes with the key turned forward and someone pumping the brakes or does the car have to be running . Thanks for your help

No vehicle requires you to have it on to bleed brakes! Not to be a dick but if you didn't know that do you really think you should be bleeding your own brakes?
