Fair Price for IRS
So im debating buying a used IRS & putting it in.... biggest issue right now is the cost? Could someone please ballpark me what a good deal for me "the buyer" would be for buying an irs off someone. The IRS has roughly 35K on it & is completely cobra stock.
Thanks Guys

$400 bucks.... so then is it a direct swap? Currently im aware that irs has cobra brakes and im still w/ GT's. So does that mean im need cobra front brakes too. Anything else that i'd need for a swap over??

All you need from the cobra is the driveshaft yoke I believe. Either you have to swap your tailshaft with his or you need to swap driveshafts. something like that.
My swap required nothing to be changed other than the rear end so I had it easy. You dont need cobra front brakes. Have fun with those E-brake cables lol.. the last one is a bitch to get back on haha

- driveshaft

Because with the differences in transmissions they had to make different tail shaft lengths to make the stuff work. I swapped with a 99 Cobra, so I didnt have to change anything for my t45 tranny 01.
IF your keeping your SRA you shouldnt need to take his driveshaft. you will just need to swap the tailshafts on the rear ends. ull basically need just the rear end and suspension components that go with it. you can keep your stock calipers (they are the same), but you need the rotors and brake pads.
here is a sort of "comparison" i did last summer. its a decent data point:

Hes giving you coil overs with it? I'm not 100% on this but the drive shaft will be a different length because of the t56. Are you buying this from him or swapping with him? that will help with what you'll need.

Are you buying his outright or swapping rears? If you're swapping, anywhere from $200-400 depending on condition and such of the IRS is fair. I bought mine outright for a hell of a steal at $400 cash and got 03 Cobra brakes and dampers all around for my car as well. But you'll need his abs sensors, driveshaft yoke, and I think that's all the tech crap you need. Make sure you address the bushings in the IRS and also get a diff brace or diff girdle that will not break if you wheel hop.
